Director Jo Mangan.  

Jo has been the founding Artistic Director/CEO of The Performance Corporation, theatre and arts organisation since 2002. In 2013 she also founded and curated the BIG House Festival – Ireland’s first ever site-specific arts festival at Castletown House, Co Kildare, awarded the ERIC for Best Irish Festival 2013 as well as numerous nominations in the Events industry Awards and Business to Arts for Best Large Sponsorship.

She was Artistic Director of the 2014 Bram Stoker Festival Dublin, also winner of the ERIC for Best Irish Festival. Other work includes Creative Consultancy for organisations such as the Abbey Theatre, curating the annual Irish Theatre Conference and working as International Programmer for Limerick City of Culture, where the highlights of her programme included Royal de Luxe. In 2011 Jo was awarded the UK based Clore Cultural Leadership Fellowship part of which saw her working at the Barbican Arts Centre as well as the Irish Department of Arts. Jo is the Chair of the National Campaign for the Arts and has served on many arts boards including Theatre Forum, Fishamble, Riverbank Arts Centre and VISUAL in Carlow.

Jo’s theatre directing work has been staged on 3 continents and resulted in numerous awards including multiple awards in the Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards. She has also directed for TV, film and Radio.
