Abstracting the Arboretum.

CAF_Book_Now_Button_SquarePainting Workshop with Cora Murphy

Friday 17 & Saturday 18 June | 10am – 4pm

Arboretum – Leighlinbridge

Following on from her sell-out series at Carlow Arts Festival 2015, Cora will be returning to the festival with a new workshop, tailor made to the flowers and fauna of the national gem and local treasure that is Carlow Arboretum.

Best known for her abstracted landscape paintings, Cora is currently working on a series inspired by plant life and gardens including Altamonte. Inspired by the Arboretum, this new 2 –day painting workshop will help you respond to nature and create your own unique paintings. Open to absolute beginners and those with a little or a lot of experience. Everyone is welcome. It promises to be Colour-Full!

In this once-off workshop, participants will respond to the colour, shapes and textures found in the Arboretum, to make their own unique artworks. Through a series of guided exercises, you will learn techniques to start, progress and complete paintings while developing your own painting style. A fun workshop, full of experimentation and belly laughs – the only requirement is a sense of humour! Suitable for absolute beginners and those with a little or a lot of experience. (Cora’s workshops are particularly useful for those wanting to loosen their painting style).

Includes: All materials, refreshments, a lunch, group and 1-2-1 tuition and extensive follow on notes

Please note: The key word in this workshop is ‘Abstract’ – if you want to make paintings in a photo-realist style this is not the workshop for you

Places are limited on this workshop, it is expected to sell out fast so if you are interested, do book your place ASAP.
