Pop-up Galleries.

Every year an intrepid band of artists from near and far, independently colonise the nooks and crannies of Carlow town. Remember to leave the splendours of Festival HQ to go on your own art safari around town. Locations are on our map but you may come across additional hidden surprises out there too – let us know @Carlowarts.

 

Carlow Photographic Society with Exposure 13.                                                    Carlow Collage will explore storytelling using photo collages to showcase Carlow and its people, places and activities. This is the 13th annual exhibition of the work of members of Carlow Photographic Society.

Transplanted an exhibition of portraits by Nuala Grogan. “I arrived from Clare in 1984. Adapting to Carlow was easy, apart from the cold everything else was very similar to where I came from. I was therefore often curious about others who have been transplanted into life in Carlow”

Blueprint is an artists network providing a platform for contemporary visual art, as well as performance, literature and other art forms. Founded in 2008, core members are Anthony Walsh, Brandon McLane and Mary Cullen Kelly.  Over 40 artists have exhibited under the Blueprint umbrella including Brian Bastick, Katie Watchorn, Rosalind Murray, Tadhg McSweeney, Ian Mannion, Brigid Teehan, Maureen Phelan and Adam Bohanna.

Barrow Valley Art Group exhibition comprises works in oils, watercolour, acrylic, pastel and mixed media. Styles vary from representational, to abstract, impressionism and expressionistic work. The group was established in 1973 and comprises professional, semi-professional and amateur artists.
